Table steady despite upsets

4/09/2008 4:52:00 PM
THE hockey finals start on Thursday night for juniors and Friday for the seniors.

On the weekend several upset results were seen but they did not affect the table.

In seniors some hardfought close games were played, with great skill on display leading into next week’s finals.

On Saturday was the finish of the under 12 competition with all games been played in Narrogin.

At the completion of the games, the association announced and presented the association fairest and best.

The winners were:

Girls fairest and best Emma Fleay, Saints, and runner-up Tayla Atkins, Bulldogs; Boys fairest and best was Shaun McKay, Dingoes, and runner-up was Mark Smith, Dumbleyung.

Well done to these aspiring champions and to all under 12 players for their efforts during the season.

It was good to see how much all players improved over the season.

On Friday the Hook in to Hockey program came to a conclusion in Narrogin, with a game between the boys and girls.

It was pleasing to see some good skill on display.

This week the semi finals commenced in all grades except under 12, the fixtures are on the web page.

On Saturday, September 13 is the association dinner. All members of the hockey association are welcome to attend, the cost is $20 per head for a three course roast meal.

Tickets are available at the canteen.
