NARROGIN detective Paul Nayler said the the door on the eastern side of the old convent building showed evidence of forced entry.
“At this stage it would appear a fire was lit inside near that door and a secondary fire was lit in the kitchen,” Detective Nayler said.
“We are treating the matter as suspicious and conducting further investigations as to who might have lit the fires.
“There are a number of people of interest in our investigations at the moment.”
Narrogin detectives are not discounting the link between a fire at a vacant house on Tudhoe Street last Friday and this one.
“It has to be taken into account that they were both on a Friday night, around the same time and within a close proximity of each other,” Detective Nayler said.
“If anybody has any information that could help, call
the Wagin Police on 9861 1211 or Narrogin Detectives.”
